Dick Rutan is a pilot. In 1986, he became the first person to fly around the world, non-stop, on a non-refueled flight. He was awarded the "Presidential Citizen's Medal of Honor" for his attempt by President Ronald Reagan.

Amy Johnson was the first female pilot to fly solo from England to Australia – a journey which took her 19 and a half days to complete. She died on 5th January 1941 and her death remains a mystery until today.
