Kristine Smith is a Science Fiction and Fantasy author of the Jani Kilian series. She holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of South Florida. Apart from writing, she works for a large pharmaceutical manufacturer - which has been her workplace for the past 20 years.

Alexander McCall Smith was born in Zimbabwe and was educated there and in Scotland. He enjoyed a distinguished career as Professor of Medical Law at the University of Edinburgh. In 2005, he started his writing career - having written more than sixty books ranging from reference works to children’s titles. In 2007, Alexander was awarded a CBE for his services to literature.
